Oops, forgot the intro!

Well, I I tried to do an intro before but my computer decided it didn't want to play and I forgot to do a new one!

Anyway, here is my introduction...

My name is Katherine (Kat for short), I'm 25 and I live in Angus, Scotland though I'm originally from Stockton-On-Tees.  I've been into birds (and other wildlife) for as long as I can remember.  When I was little(r) I remember  going out near to where Salthome nature reserve now is watching great crested grebes doing their mating dance with bits of weed.  Though I visited Salthome early in its development, I moved up to Scotland not long afterwards and I would love to go back to see what the area looks like now!  Hopefully I'll get the chance sometime next year!

While I enjoy birds, I'm into all other kinds of wildlife as well.  I collect fossil shark teeth and spines and have over 60 examples in my collection dating from the more than 300 million years ago to just a few million years old!

I have a pet dog who accompanies me on my walks whether long or short, she's always ready to come along.  She's pretty good at finding deer in the fields and I can always tell when she has picked up the scent of a deer on the wind.  I also have a corn snake called Silver, 3 sand geckos (Ricki, Sahara and Phoenix) and 2 mourning geckos (Skye and Cumbrae), with more mourning geckos probably on the way....  They don't come out for a walk obviously!

I have volunteered for the RSPB for over a year now at Loch of Kinnordy reserve, for the bird friendly schools, volunteer and farmer allience, at events and hopefully I'll soon be getting more involved in community talks too!  And I have a job on top of all that!
