Hello From South Lanarkshire

Hi everyone,

Finally got round to joining, and am really, really pleased to have a community like this- at least we all know we have one thing in common!!!  Hoping to share news, views, and not too many blues, as time goes on.

I even love magpies

  • HI there,

I live in Uddingston, but am originally from Halfway in Cambuslang, in the days that it was a village, surrounded by farms, rather than a massive, badly built housing estate.  (I could rant for hours about it!!!)  I've always loved nature, but only really got active in it about a year ago after a long hiatus.  Glad to say the kids are starting to share my love of it, all i need to do now is work on the wife!!!!

How about yourself, whats your background?  Lesmahagow is the real countryside, as I call it, and seems like my idea of heaven.

    I even love magpies

  • Welcome Johnny Mac,

Although I was born in Dundee, I lived in Larkhall for quite a few years when I was working in Glasgow. I remember the clyde valley quite well with all the plum trees and garden centres. Also remember New Lanark and Corra Linn waterfall.

I am really keen on ospreys and particularly the LG ones. I live quite near Rutland Water and have seen them several times there this year.

  • Welcome to the forum Johnny Mac!! I'm sure you'll love it here!
