Heard this morning in my Derbyshire garden!
Hi Donna,
You do realise that a Bobolink is an Amercan bird and a Golden Oriole is a rare passage migrant to the UK. Both highly unlikely to turn up in a Derbyshire garden.
How did you identify these birds?

I didn’t know either birds Teejay so I looked them up. Identified on my Merlin app so I’m wondering if it was a birdsong mistake?
You need to be careful in accepting what Merlin comes up with. It can be useful but it is by no means foolproof. This is particularly the case if it's using anything other than the Britain and Ireland bird pack if you are recording in the UK. Check what the app is set to by looking at the settings.
If you have a recording of what you heard you can post it on the Forum and people will do their best to ID the songs.
Thank you. I only have the Britain and Ireland setting installed. I will post the songs then.
