Hi everyone,
I have a bird feeder in my garden which attracts lots of different birds year round. Recently two cats have moved in next door and they often come into my garden. They are massive, long haired cats which are a pale orange in colour. I'm not too worried about them catching birds at the moment because they are very easy to see and it would be difficult for them to sneak up on the birds. I am worried about the baby birds when they appear. They are often very tame and sit on or near the ground. Do you think I should take my bird feeder away so that the adults won't bring the babies to the garden? Or will they miss the food too much? I'd love to hear your opinions!
Many thanks.
The same applies to dogs. Or an adjacent farmer's (escaped) cows that 'jumped' a badly maintained barbed wire fence and trampled/ateanything they could. Cow bells don't give sufficient warning to rows of vegetables.
