I have a bird feeder in my garden which attracts lots of different birds year round. Recently two cats have moved in next door and they often come into my garden. They are massive, long haired cats which are a pale orange in colour. I'm not too worried about them catching birds at the moment because they are very easy to see and it would be difficult for them to sneak up on the birds. I am worried about the baby birds when they appear. They are often very tame and sit on or near the ground. Do you think I should take my bird feeder away so that the adults won't bring the babies to the garden? Or will they miss the food too much? I'd love to hear your opinions!

It won't make much difference - the young birds on the ground will be fed bugs and caterpillars, not seeds from the feeders. When you see birds on the ground maybe you could ask your neighbours if they would keep their cats in for a few days just while the youngsters improve their flying skills.
Rats are 100% worse. I would rather have cats than Rats! Cats are not really. the problem!

Do you know how easily Rats can get into anyone’s home. There are many ways and once there in your home, apart from spreading disease they can gnaw though plaster and will also gnaw through electric cables. Rats can very easily get in to anyone’s home And if Rats gnaw through electric cables that can cause fires. Also if any Rats are in anyone’s garden; Rats breed very fast and before you know it, you will end up with an infestation of Rats of which by them, it will be more difficult to get of the rats and the more expensive as well.. And if any neighbours complain about any rats in anyone’s garden, even if it’s your own home and could be a big environmental problem the local authority can and will check this out and they have legal powers powers to deal with such problems. That is why if I have any rats in my garden, I call out pest control straight away. The quicker it’s dealt with the better. And if you don’t believe me i can post on this forum just how easy Rats can get into anyone’s home and there are many ways Rats can get in to anyone’s home. The quicker any Rat problem is dealt with the better.

You can try and encourage your neighbours to fit a bell on their cats collars, so the birds have warning.
