White bird with a long neck, long grey beak and long, thin black legs with yellow feet. We have spotted one yesterday at Walsall Arboretum, at least 8 today at Woodgate Valley County Park in Birmingham Has anyone else seen the them around the West Midlands
Cattle Egrets are now now widespread in breeding/nesting and have expanded there range widely. Also a Great White Egret did succeed in breeding/nesting in 2023 with success and Cattle Egrets are not just not seen and breeding now in Southern England as I’ve seen Cattle Egrets quite widespread in other areas of the UK.

Ian.

No one is arguing about Cattle Egrets - just that the original post had nothing to do with Cattle Egrets given the poster's description.
