Here in South Darenth our birds have disappeared. We have just one Magpie we used to have lots of them. I have one Robin who comes once a day, we used to have lots of Blue Tits, Sparrows. I have tried various types of food, fat balls, suet block, suet and worms to tempt them even peanuts. But nothing
Am wondering if this could be due to more folk feeding birds during the British Garden Birdwatch weekend so more choice of feeding stations before they reach yours?

Beachwalker - My favourite occupation as I love exploring my home county and photographing its beauty.
I live in South Wales, I have been wondering for months why I don’t hear the beautiful dawn chorus anymore, there is an extreme lack of birds, bees, wasps, and butterflies. I have been watching for months but nothing, there is a horrible silence and a severe lack of birds. I see pigeons, crows, magpies and the odd buzzard and the other day I saw a female blackbird. No starlings, sparrows, robins, swifts, swallows, house martins, blue tits, nothing, it’s like they have all vanished. it’s not just me saying this, I have spoken to many people who are all saying the same thing, something is missing.
Have the same here in Southwest Devon. There is plenty of food out in the wild. Spilt grains from the harvest and wild berries. Am seeing a lot of purple droppings in the garden, a sign of berry eating.
