Hello. Over the last three or four days, I have noticed some new birds flying over my garden and local area.

I have done a Google image search, and I think they are three male purple martins and one female purple martin.

Never seen them before.

Hope you managed a picture or 2 becky as I would love to see them as they must have been going slow enough for you to be able to sex them that you could have taken a pic?...hopefully??

Well if they are purple martins then I am sure your area shall be flooded with twitchers and so far I have been unable to find a single sighting reported in the last week or since 2004 in Scotland so that picture is definitely required I think to get a proper ID of what you are seeing ;-)

True. When it’s a bit cooler weather wise, I’ll be able to spend some time out in the garden with my camera.

I’ll also try taking some photo’s in the evenings as well.
