Hello Everyone,
2 days ago I found a baby bird on the side of a road near a park and after a couple of hours of watching it from far I assumed it was abandoned.
It could barely lift his head up, eyes closed, almost not responsive. I took it home and have been feeding and watering him since two days as instructed by a wet.
I would like to know if there are any bird sanctuaries near me where I could drop him off? I'm based in Manchester.
The little one is doing much better now. It walks, chirps, grooms himself and jumps on me if I sit on the floor.
I think it's a Magpie, but it's a wild guess. Picture attached.
Any advice on what to feed him, how to water him or even how to allow him to bathe would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
It's actually a young Jay not a Magpie. You could search HelpWildlife for a rescue centre near you. Look for one that mentions/specializes in corvids which this bird is. Good luck.
