I'm in the market for a pair of compacts, 8x25, around the £100 mark. Just something nice and light that I can carry in my pocket - and, unlike my main pair, that I can use whilst holding the dog on his lead!
I'm drawn towards the Hawke Endurance at £95 but I haven't field tested anything yet and I'm open to suggestions. Prepared to be a little flexible on price for the right pair.
TIA
Ian

Good idea Jeremy thanks. One downside is inability to try before buying but I've never let that stop me before, and for a good enough bargain...

Thanks Debs - I'd never heard of them but I've just looked them up and they have a branch not 10 miles from where I live! D'oh.
Excellent!
Well I followed your advice Debs and I'm so glad I did! I visited In Focus at Denby Dale - an easy 25-minute drive from home - and was met with a friendly welcome and some excellent advice.
I was asked about my needs in some detail then presented with a range of options to try before making what I consider to be an excellent buy. I was able to take as long as I wanted to hop between the various choices and there was no attempt to steer me towards the more expensive pairs - just clear unbiased advice and lots of questions to check that my needs were being met.
A very pleasant experience I thoroughly enjoyed, and I can't speak too highly of the attention or service I received.
