Finding north without a compass.
Using an analog watch it's easy. Place the watch on the ground so the hour hand points in the direction of the sun. bisect the angle between the hour hand and 12 o'clock - that is a North South line :)
Just remember if the watch is on BST bisect between the hour hand and the 1 O clock digit.

Good tip, but surely much easier my way. If you know what the time of day is, and you can see the sun (both of which you need to accomplish your tip), then you can work out more or less where north is.
