It would be very useful, and interesting, to have access to a list of members of this community forum. (No private details necessary). I am only asking for the same details we can see in the "who's on-line" page, with a link to each person's profile page, nothing more.
This might just solve the problem of duplicated nicknames, which is currently causing problems.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Sparrow, yes I agree. The web wizzards and IT experts need to come up with a fix when new members register.
They need to incorporate a sytem that recognises when a user name already exists. Many websites have this facility and I'm sure it could be done.
If this forum continues to grow, then it will become somewhat confusing if dozens of members all have the same user ID.

Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
I'm already confused Buzzard!
I think a list is a really good idea Sparrow. Also if it had the date of when that person was last online, that would be good.
Ditto Buzzard and Sparrow
A web wiz-kid needs to do his/her thing on the RSPB Forum.
Then our names will be private to us

I think that is a brilliant idea!

Thumbs up too KatTai!

If you go to a persons 'My Page' by clicking on their name, then scroll down to below their messages etc., you will find a big list of where they have left posts recently, with dates (& you can access these by clicking on them, too). Agree tho that it would be nice to have a central list of everyone's names, its hard to trace people.
Hi Lindy
Yes, it is hard to trace people on the RSPB at the moment.
We cannot see/track duplicate names for a last posting etc, So we have no idea where they are in relation to their recent postings etc..
Yes, we need a central list profile names - so true!!!
The facility must already be in the system. If you join one of the individual Groups, there is a list to view of the Group members under the heading People.
I agree something needs to be done as the member name duplication is a problem which is only likely to increase.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi there,
We are working on this. I'm not sure how quickly it will be available but I thought I should let you know.
All the best,
Graham
