Just been on my local group community page looking at thepeople in the group and there is a heading ‘Membership Type’. Some people are listed as Members and some asOwners. Does anyone know what thedifference is please; not important just intriguing.

I'd never noticed this before so I had a look at one of the groups to which I belong. I think, having clicked on a few "Owners", that they are people who have some official capacity within the RSPB. Members are just people like you and me who belong to the group.

The Owner is the person who started the group. Usually that will be someone from an RSPB reserve , but theoretically at least anyone can start a group of their own. If you "own" a group you automatically have Moderator rights within that group , but only that group. You can accept or reject other people as members of that group.
