Has the RSPB ever considered having an App for Apple iPad's or other forms of Tablets such as Android etc? The National Trust and the Wildlife Trusts now have an App for Tablets, that is very good. Couldn't the RSPB consider doing the same?
Regards,
Ian.
The RSPB Book of Birds is available as an App - or do you mean an App with details of each reserve, facilities and the like? That would be handy

Yes that's what I mean, with details of reserves, facilities etc. The National Trust have an excellent App as do the Wildlife Trusts.
Technically it isn't that challenging (well, only a little bit beyond my pay grade). I'm assuming the RSPB doesn't have a stable of in-house developers, so it would have to be outsourced - which would cost. If the app was created in HTML5 (see here for an interesting take on HTML5 and native app programming) a single build could be made to run on any tablet and phone or PC for that matter.
