Failure to add photos

Bob,

After some failed attempts to post photos here, I have found that you need to open the file (Jpeg) you wish to post before the grey bar will activate. I do this from desktop. Just an idea, I'm certainly not a techy.

Alan,   This is strange and is just like last time.   Browser changed and everything cleared. Same result.

Claire, that is the point I get to - Open the photo and the name sits alongside the grey bar but the bar won't activate for some reason.

I think there are some gremlins lurking in the site. Apart from a few people having problems with uploading photos, some people are having problems seeing photos that have uploaded - even though others can see them. Personally, I am having problems replying to posts. When I press reply, the thing goes round and round for ages, sometimes 5 minutes or more. They do post, but slowly. I also think the pages are getting slower to load.

I drag the photos from Aperture onto desktop and browse from there, but Macs may be different from PCs.

Edit - Linda just read your post. I'm sure there are glitches in the system and the time taken for loading pages is getting longer.

I still have difficulty in activating the Link symbol in rich formatting.

I've had both the problems referred to by Sparrow but not generally in uploading photos. They can take a while for the "uploaded" message to appear if the files are large.

The other funny thing is that you sometimes have to wait for the Browse box to expand horizontally to its full width. I suspect that if you hit the Browse tab too quickly that might cause a problem.

I also had problems uploading the other day and gave up, next day all went well.   Like you Sparrow the "reply" seems to take ages now,  ... bit like my hubby when he suddenly has problems with his hearing.....

my problem since yesterday is everytime I try to post pic in rich formatting or open a live webcam on LG , IE encounters a problem and shuts me down - is this rspb website or my pc problem.  Have spent most of day deleting/installing/repairing IE7 but no luck - help

Wren, It worked about 2 days later.  I have absolutely no idea what caused the problem or what corrected it.
