Hi there
Can someone please tell me what to log into in order to discover how things work? How many forums are there? Where do I find them (apart from the one I used regarding the non-arrival of the swallows in central France) and exactly what is a group? Also have no idea what RSS feed is. And there's this "Add group to favourites" - presumably this means add to my favourites? And "tags" - how do they work?
Sorry about all this but I trust that someone who has once been equally puzzled and is now familiar with the system, will help me out. Balepy

Linda thanks for the tip - I didn't even know what a "thread" was till now! Yes we have masses of photos (not professional standard though) and I am going to work out with the help of "Doggie" how to upload them. Will keep trying! My name is actually Valerie - Balepy is the Greek spelling of my name spoken phonetically. I lived in Greece for nine years before France.
Hi Valerie,
I shall look forward to your photos. Doggie is the expert on posting them, so you are in good hands. Thanks also for the explanation of your user name, it's a good one!
Don't worry about not knowing what you are doing. We were all in the same boat when we first joined. You will soon pick it up.
Which thread was this in response to, if you can let me know I can join them together...
Warden Intern at Otmoor.
Don't worry i found it, they're joined!
Ian I have no idea what you are talking about - thanks but what have you joined and where do I find these threads? Secondly I can't find my original query but am still trying as I had so much good advice and wanted to thank everyone. It's like running a horrendous obstacle race and finding the hurdles too high! From a weary Balepy!
Ian has merged your original thread with the one you thanked everyone on, so all the comments are together on one thread rather than on two different threads.
You can always find any thread you have started or commented on by looking at the activities list on your profile page.
Linda thanks once again - have found my profile page and the reply I posted somewhere??? thanking members for their advice. I just hope all who responded are aware that I had thanked them and was not ignoring them.
Hope the sun is shining with the same enthusiasm in the UK as it is in France! Our semi-tame pheasant is busy crowing (rusty gate sound) and flapping his gorgeous wings outside my door. His mate is definitely either sitting on a nest somewhere or with chicks now as she seldom appears, and when she does she is ravenous. We feed them twice a day and enjoy their company hugely. Will try and post some photos soon.
Best wishes Balepy
Good Question Balepy. I am in the exactly the same situation!
Bob you have attracted the attention of the friendly and helpful expert "doggie" and I am sure he will sort you out. I've been too busy to download photos but intend to try after this week's visitors from the UK have gone (if I survive!) Have not seen the pheasant's mate since I last wrote and am feeling a bit uneasy, I hope she and her brood are OK.
