I still have baby birds in my garden, Gold finches and House Martins, Surely this is too late for them to survive. We have had two deaths already. The House Martins are still being fed by parents in the nest.
Sorry Pat but can,t possibly be house martins unless your from another country.

Hi Barnsley Lad, I think there may be a wee bit of confusion here. Pat's post was entered last September so quite possibly young goldies and martins around.

Just to let you know the Swallows that nest in the outbuildings near where I worked used to manage 3 broods some years. The 3rd brood probably wouldnt make it but I guess there was always a chance that they would the parents only have to replace themselves to continue the line so 3 x 5 chicks = 15 just need 2 to get to Africa and back and its a success. Its a tough life they have and not everything makes it :-(
