We are aware that the RSPB website, including the Community, has been intermittently very slow for some users since 2 July. Please bear with us. We sincerely apologise for the frustration this is causing.
We are investigating the problem as a matter of urgency but have not yet discovered the root cause of the problem.

I've been having major probs with the site tonight - error pages when signing in and replying to posts, photos pretending to load, and a wonky home page. Anyone else having difficulties?
I was away at the weekend and on Monday evening noticed that the red banner had gone. Has there been a permanent fix to the site?

I haven't had any major problems with the site. No error pages, no photo uploading problems and no wonky pages. However, I still have problems with the Quick Reply box not loading properly and taking forever.
No email notifications for me since some time yesterday!

Firstly, many thanks for your feedback - and apologies you're having some trouble using the community. I'm standing in for a while on keeping tabs on some of the technical issues (and hopefully getting some of them fixed!).
Could you describe the "wonkiness" of the homepage? This will help us track down what might have caused that.
I will investigate the photo uploading problem and the email notifications issues.
Again, many thanks for your help resolving these problems. Very much appreciated.

Thanks for your support - and I forgot to say, I'll post an update as soon as we've got some facts about the nature of the problem and fixing it. There is another thread developing discussing the same issue, so I'll try to merge any threads on this to ensure it doesn't get confusing about what's going on or what the latest update is.

I've just picked up on your reply.
I'm not sure if you still want this information, but script on the home page was way off centre and the background colour was a very pale blue. There were no obvious tabs and the script on tab headings was white. The layout of the forum posts was odd too, although I can't now remember exactly how they were odd.
No problems with error pages or layout when logging in just now.
