Ladies and Gentlemen (and anything inbetween)
We have many posts with issues post upgrade, can we use this thread to collect them, more chance of getting things changed.
My biggest gripe, is the default resolution, the css frame is too large for the content (although very pretty)
Temp work around use the view function of your browser ( crtl and + will work on most desktop/laptops).
Mobile devices have their own way (usually a pinch on the touch screen).
It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

I think so too.
It looks like we are stuck with ploughing through a whole load of activities we aren't interested in - like so and so has changed an avatar etc.
Cheers, Linda.

I agree with you Sparrow. I'm finding the main page almost useless. The forum posts are clogged up with stickies and announcements. Even if you suppress ones you have read as soon as someone posts anything they reappear. I've tried the filters too and they really don't do the job.
The tactic I'm adopting is to open Wildlife and Chat in separate pages/tabs. At least that way you've got a chance of seeing something you are interested in.

That's what I'm doing TJ.
I have another question.
I have just noticed all the threads where we post pictures of species of birds, example "Show us your pigeons", are now in the Photography Forum. I was under the impression that forum was for tips, discussions, and questions on photography rather than showing our own pictures. Am I wrong? I'm sure previously they would have been in the Birds in our garden or All Creatures forums.
I must confess to being a tad confused ( yes I know a daily occurrence for me ), however, the layout of the old forum was fine, all that needed tweaking was the speed and loading of photographs.
Why oh why have you changed it so?
I know some folks will say give it time and you will get used to it! well I am sorry No NO NO, it's over complicated to navigate, and just down right aggravating, to be blunt, I dislike it intensely!
I appreciate the good intentions of the upgrade, but I am sorry I think you have got it all wrong, you have altered things that did not need altered.
If the intention is to keep the layout as is, then I for one will not be participating very often.
I am prepared to wait and see what happens, but for me the layout must change.
Best Wishes to you all
Rhona
I think the photography forum has became a place for posting photos now, I think talk on cameras, lenses etc is more for Gear Guide and with the title "Photography" people are going to think they post their photos there anyway. I'm sure tips etc will fit in there too though :-)

You are quite right, Sparrow. That was what it was set up for. Unfortunately, people misunderstood and started putting photos in it. I think maybe the mods saw how it was being used and gave in.
It doesn't make any sense to me at all, but there again, not much does these days! LOL
Don't forget a third window to keep open - Homes for Wildlife in the Get Involved Group - or you will miss nest boxes, birds in your garden, and others.

Good thinking. The funny thing with that Category is that there is no Forum tab. I don't usually bother with blogs, photos etc. and like to suppress them.
Haven't they made life difficult for us !! Sighs!!
One good thing that has been done is that you can click on "latest post" on a thread so that you don't have to scroll through a long document to get to the end. It doesn't tell you who initiated the thread though which is something I like to know.
I asked MrM, who is not a member of this forum but does subscribe to other forums, to pretend he was a new member. He is interested in photography and decided to try to find the photography forum. The main page confused him as he did not connect photography with chat. Nor were the drop down lists on the main page helpful. After trying several different options under the search button - several took him to the wildlife section - he found the forum. It took him more than 10mins and some frustration!
While experienced users may eventually familiarise themselves with this site, i am sure newcomers will be tempted to give it a miss due to the complex arrangement of the categories.
