We found an abandoned mallard duckling stuck down a water drain. There were no signs of its mother. The duckling looks to be about a week old. Is it possible to care for it be release it into the wild once grown? We have the time to do this but don't want the bird to suffer in the long term. Thanks for any advice.
Sorry no one has answered, sometimes threads get missed. I would suggest, do you have a rescue/wildlife centre near to where you live Mon. They will be able to give you the best advice, hope the wee one is okay. For now put out a shallow dish of water and some duck food? I had a quick Google for you and found this site which may help.
