To make it easier to find the fantastic threads full of beautiful photo's. (I'm still not very good and remembering which thread was who's in order to find the thread).

I am looking for the clouds & sunsets thread.

I think a thread for beautiful photo mishaps would be good, you know the sort that were a mess from the camera shakes / lighting but beautiful as a piece of art in their own right.

We could dedicate photo's to other members aswell i.e their favourite birds.

Here are  some beautiful mishaps I took the other day, I can use them for my textile inspiration sketchbook.

3 Bush Dogs in their enclosure - Dudley Zoo.

    Looking Xmas-y there Sparrow.

    Not a bad picture at all

    Did you not use the Auto Adjust button to lighten the picture

    Regards

  • Hi Blackbird,

    I could ask What's an auto-adjust button, but I won't show my ignorance. There is an auto brightness/contrast thing on my software, but this photo was taken when the landscape was brilliant white, in the middle of the day, and shouldn't be dark at all.

    Cheers, Linda.

    Hi Sparrow

    If you use or have access to free 'Windows Photo Gallery' software you will be able to change the contrast of your pictures

    Not as good as Photoshop and more basic, but ideal the basic changes needed to improve your photos.

    The Auto Adjust button is within the same drop down menu as 'Crop' facility.  The menu has 'Fix' on the top most layer of the menu so you need to go into the presented drop-down menu shown.

    Hope this makes sense or a photo of the 'associated'  screen might be useful (by the way I have Vista)

    Will do that if you wish?

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

  • Thanks Kathy. Is this better? (My software is Photofiltre, a freebie download)

    Cheers, Linda.

  • A nice study of twigs. Pity about that darned bird spoiling the composition.

    hi TJ

    That is a 'whoops' bird picture for you, and not all pictures we take with our camera are good ones.

    At least most of the time we do not show them to the bigger audience the 'full on'  mishaps except through threads like this one {blush}

    So embarassing {blush}

    One thing though that we are proud of our cameras.(big smile}

    We also have one worth talking about, so that is half the battle  {hmm} {wink}

    We just learn from our mistakes as photographers, and improve our skills as much as we can.

    That is the best way forward. {huge smile}

    Regards

    Hi Sparrow

    That is alright {smile}.  Not heard of your software by the way but great that it is a freebie

    We have 'Gimp' here as a freebie too but it is more complicated to use

    Glad that you can update as sometimes pictures mean a lot to us

    Memories ......

    We hope to upgrade our camera to SLR status in the future and we will get Photoshop then

    Regards

  • Hi guys,

    I would be interested in being part of a photography interest in birds forum but not sure that this is it ~ I may have missed something, if so please put me right.

    If such a forum does exist can anyone point me to it or is there the makings of a regular spot!
