Have just noticed a hen blackbird feeding an adult male blackbird with some juicy worms she then flew off, the male eat the worms and after a while flew into a hedge.
i have read of males feeding hens in a courtship way but not this way around. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on?

What can happen is that by this time of the year the parent birds are on auto pilot and feed any open mouth

Thank you, that makes sense - think I know the feeling! She did hang around for a while though, as if she was expecting him to turn up. I don’t remember him having an open beak.
