Photography Forum Requests

I see there have been two previous requests for some sort of Photographic Forum, one in January and the other in June.

May I ask if this forum will become a reality as I wouldn't mind contributing to it as well as learning from it.

I don't think it needs to be a critique type forum as there are many of those specialist type of forums all over the web. But it could be a simple problem and assist part of the site i.e. Q. when I press the button this happens – why?  A. You have to set it up like this.

Just thought I'd ask.

  • Agree its a great idea we have so maany accomplished photographers now on the forums it would be great to go strainght to the right place and ask the right questions.

  • Yes it sounds like a great idea. As Judi M has written, there are so many great photographers on here now and I would love the chance to learn from them and pick their brains occasionally. Watch out Rhodopsin, if we get the new forum, you are going to be bombarded with questions :-))

    Kind regards Jane.

And bird photography, you are accomplished in that too now - very accomplished

  • I couldn't agree more with the idea of a photography forum. I am a beginner and have so many questions and would also like to be able to post a photo and ask how I could have improved it by using different settings etc. With all the expertise on here it would be great.

    Cheers, Linda.

[/quote]Ha Ha, fine by me, capturing movement without blurring is one of the things I need help with:-(

Seriously, I would take your advice any day, I agree with JudiM, your bird and wildlife photos are brilliant.

    Kind regards Jane.

  • Hi Richard

Great idea as I'm sure that like most photographers we are all still learning. There are also lots of hints and tips in both taking and presenting pictures that we can all do.

    Robert

  • Yes, just to say that I know a lot of members were really interested in how you changed your photos to appear as water colours Robert. I am sure you would be able to give us all more help with that sort of technique. Another reason why it would be nice to have a forum just for photography help and advice.

    Kind regards Jane.

  • We can all learn from each other. Yes I'm knowledgeable of certain things about taking images but I'm still learning as photography is evolving at a considerable speed and that's despite the rules of photography remain virtually the same. It’s worth remembering that Kodak developed the first digital sensor in 1969, yes that’s correct. However over recent years it has moved on so quickly it’s almost difficult to keep up. For instance: mobile phone technology now incorporates a highly sophisticated miniature cameras that when used in the correct conditions can produce an image almost as good as the top pro digital cameras which can cost up to £48000.00.
