In 2014 my garden welcomed a new visitor, a great spotted woodpecker. He found a mate, bred in 2015 a hen who was introduced to my feeders and has been coming here regularly ever since. It is now her first year of sexual maturity and she too found a mate and today brought along her son who she was feeding on the side of the telegraph pole with super suet from the feeders. Great to see she is doing well and I hope her offspring keeps coming here too.
