I thought we had seen the last of it, but it's snowing heavy here. we have had an inch already!
I was happy this morning because my little wren came back.
all the ground food has been buried, and the blackbird are having to dig for their food.
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
That is so suprising Sparrow. Is that the River Ribble? You don't want the rain we have had today and what is forecast for this week.
Hi Brenda,
Yes, it's the Ribble downstream of Edisford Bridge. It is very shallow. I hope the rain up here isn't saving itself for the summer.
LOL Janet - I will share the wind with you!!
Cheers, Linda.

We have snow once more though it is light rather than heavy.
The sky is top heavy with snow at the moment
Brenda: I saw a Sparrow sitting in the front garden with a piece of twig in its beak - wonder if the sparrow is thinking of building a nest at this moment of time! Bit early maybe? Poor birds must be confused.
The bird food makers must be pleased with all the 'ongoing' bird food sales at the moment. The snow is the manufacturers friend.
Hi Steffers and welcome on board the RSPB Forum.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Kathy, i keep telling this blackbird, she is far too early, but maybe she knows when spring will arrive and when I think she is singing, she is actually saying, 'Stupid Woman !'
LOL, Brenda
I have noticed that the Blackbirds are singing their hearts out now at the crack of dawn. Love is in the air with the male Blackbirds at this time of the year. The Song Thrush is continually being chased out of our garden, and is the target of their territorial disputes as I speak.
I actually saw male 2 Blackbirds fighting this morning - so they have building homes on their minds.
Blackbirds are always well prepared, even if the weather is wrong. Wish we could talk to birds in their language, and we could keep them straight. Wonder what they would say to us, amd we to them.

Hi Janet,
We live not far from you,in the new village up on the hill and we usually have snow when everyone else has sunshine lol...
It is snowing here heavily as I type this...
Hi Kathy,lovely to see you...
I could have sworn I heard the first birds of the year this morning starting the dawn chorus,it can't be long now before they all start, then we will know that spring is on it's way...
Being Happy doesn't mean everythings perfect........
It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.....
Hi Robyn
Good to see you too {smile}
Hope that the snow is not affecting you too much?
We have snow but it is fine flakes at the moment.
Still it is starting to land, so we will see what we have got tomorrow morning.
It's not been good here has it, the weather has been bad, the sun is out at the moment, but i still have a lot of snow on the gound, yeah we had more sleet on tuesday.

No snow here. Poor you, poor birds they will be having such a hard time. It is just overcast here and colder than yesterday when I was out in the garden. The fish are coming to the surface in my pond so it must be getting warmer. Here's hoping for the better weather.
I'm always look forward to seeing the wonderful green of the leaf buds coming into life you don't see any other time of year and the first swallow around the 15th April. Spring, Spring Spring.
