I am interested to know if, by providing these for birds, there is a danger that undesirables might make use of them instead of birds. I am, of course, thinking particularly of mice!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
There is always that chance, yes, but the mice are most likely to be field/wood mice which are far less likely to invade a house than house mice or rats, though we did have a little wood mouse in our house last winter. They usually stay ouside. You could also end up with bees or wasps using the nest boxes.
