I have for the past two mornings had what I thought was Thrushes sitting in the trees at the bottom of my garden, quite a few of them, but having got out the binoculars have discovered that they are Redwings I am thrilled to see them because we have never had them before, the cold weather must be bringing them closer to the houses, although I haven't seen any in the garden feeding, is there anything in particular they like to encourage them.
From what I've heard from on these forums, you stand a good chance if you put some chopped up apples out

In my garden they seem to favour berries. They demolished the berries on my Pyracantha bush in no time at all.
As Paul E suggests apples are certainly worth a try, Fieldfares like them, or you could try raisins if you can spare them. Good luck

Thanks TeeJay and Paul E for your suggestions I'll give the apples a try, although at the moment I have a territorial Blackbird patrolling seeing everyone off that dares to come near the dish which I do happen to have raisins in.
