Just wondering if anyone has any advice on finding mountain hares? My aunt and brother are going skiing next week and I'm going up with them to see if I can find some wildlife and I would love to see a white hare! Last time I was up I was following tracks, but found no hare, until we were driving away from the ski slopes to see a normal coloured hare say at the side of the road! I'll have my dog with me so maybe she'll be able to pick up the scent of one for me lol

Sorry Kat Tai I haven't got a clue. What about travel / tourism sites for the area you are going to. Sometimes I find badger watching groups etc through those when I am visiting somewhere new. Maybe there is a Wildlife / forrest Ranger there that you could contact.
You might find this weblink to be of use to you from the mammal society regarding mountain hares and thier habits:

Otherwise maybe its worth contacting the MS directly for a chat on tracking them and the likelihood of seeing them near to the area you are visiting. Hope that helps!
