Last august i was in Brittany for a month & the forest opposite us had sparrowhawks in it. All you could hear for weeks was the chicks calling. We watched the adult male everyday back & forth off hunting & bringing food back. One day my wife said it looked like he dropped the food to the female, i said are you sure she said yes. I knew hen harriers did this food drop. Then last day we were there I saw it with my own eyes the male came flying over the tree top calling then the female quickly appeared & he dropped the food she caught it & went back to nest! Amazing to see. At the time I didn't realise they did this but as i read later on that they do. Anyone else every saw this??
