My feeders are virtually deserted this week. Only a family of Sparrows. Upto this week I have had to fill the feeders everyday. Anyone got any ideas?
could this be the same as my missing blackbirds? apparently they may have gone to hederows to feed off the berries and suchlike.
Birds Rule
Many birds go through the moult at this time of the year and this is why they can be scarce. If you are close to farmland many may head out to there to pick up fallen seed too or head off to take advantage of other autumn bounty.
Millie & Fly the Border Collies
We haven't seen our Wood Pigeons for a while, wondered where they had gone. We have 2 pairs that nest in next door's Connifer but feed from our garden.
We went for a walk today to the backwaters - we have to walk through farmland and there on the stubble were hundreds of Wood Pigeons so guess ours were amongst them!

Hi Voyagerspirit,
This page - (where have all the birds gone?) on the Wildlife Enquiries blog may offer some ideas!
