Hi I live in the Isle of Man, every september we stay just North of the Kyle of Lochalsh, near Plockton and the Skye Bridge. The past few years we have been staying about the 11th-20th September one of the reasons is to by lucky enough to hear and see the migratory geese fly over, two years ago we went the last part of september, they flew over mid september! past two years we are in the window of the above dates and again I know it's luck but have missed them as reports coming in seem to be just after we returned.
I would be so grateful for any advice as to the best time for this visit knowing luck plays a big part but residents in the area seem to hear them every year but not sure when. Usually migratory birds are creatures of habit. We prefer each year to stay in this area because of easy connections back to the IOM. Certainly according to Skye birds recent reports it appears we returned too early.
Thankyou.

Hi Liz
I just wanted to say welcome to the forum. I am not able to assist with your particular enquiry, not being from that area myself, but there are lots of folk here who will be able to advise you.
Edit - I have just had a little tick come up saying I suggested this post as the answer. I didn't - so sorry about that!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
