Just got a brand new pair of binoculars and was trying them out in the garden yesterday evening. Spotted a Red Kite flying over the house in Haywards Heath being mobbed by three Crows. Anyone out there know if this is an unusual sighting or do they frequently pass over the South East from the Continent?
Hello, I'm new to this but I thought you may be interested in knowing I've just seen 3 red kites today on the edge of West Sussex and Hampshire, on farm land, in a village called Lurgshall. They were so beautiful and graceful.
Just spotted a Red Kite flying over the A259 Bognor Road just off the A27. Such a great sight.
Red kites eat a lot of carrion, sadly we have no big predators anymore to make carrion for them, except for…cars! They seem to thrive alongside roads from eating roadkill! They’ve moved into my area within my lifetime and it’s been really lovely because there was a pair where I used to live, and you could hear them calling to each other
