Have grown nasturtiums again this year and covered in caterpillars but no takers by the birds. Why is this?
Surely a good food source even if no young about?
Carole, unfortunately some caterpillars have an excellent protective device - they tast revolting to birds!!!! ;-)

My nasturtiums get eaten by large white caterpillars too. One year I noticed a wasp picking one off, within two days they had taken every one of them. Can any0ne tell us how to attract wasps! Large white caterpillars like Horse Radish leaves too, but I have never seen them being taken by anything from there.
