The RSPB is where I purchased my feeders - although I did have to wait quite a few months I eventually saw a pair.  This year they even bought along their offspring.  Be patience and you will be rewarded.

Even the greenfinches have had a go - and I thought that they only preferred sunflower seeds!!

Hello, May I suggest a Yellow Niger feeder, Haiths do a cheap set called Starter Flockers, They are plastic and a bit cheaper than the standard metal ones.

I originally used a RSPB starter feeder, one of those small ready filled red ones to see if I had Gold Finches in the area, it soon got emptied, so I then bought a Haiths yellow feeder and the birds continue to come, they are quite shy though, and tend to bolt when I move to get a better view.

I have now resorted to leaving some binoculars by the window as not to disturb them.  :-)
