I have a mole in my garden who will not take the hint and leave. He has gone from the back to the front - via the flower borders, and he is driving me mad. I have tried burying bottles, windmills, battery operated mole chasers - the works. This morning I woke up to two huge molehills right in the middle of the front lawn. He has to go. I really don't want to exterminate him but I am at my wits end. Can anybody give me advice on getting rid of him humanely please?
Not tried this as not had a mole problem so not sure if it really works but I have heard that cloths soaked in jeyes fluid put into their tunnels soon gets them packing as they don't like the smell...

Several companies sell a sonic mole repeller (just google Sonic Mole Repeller) which costs about £10.00. I haven't had reason to try it but perhaps someone else on here has and can advise how effective it is..
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

Thank you Squirrel for your reply, but I have 4 of these and they are not having the desired effect!

Good luck Sunflower! Hope it works for you!
Hi again Sunflower
If the Jeyes doesn't work, one or other of these might be of interest to you. The info on the second one is extremely sketchy but I happened to be going through T & M on line looking for winter planting and came across theirs this morning:-

I can understand that it would be really annoying if you've put a lot of effort into your flowerbeds, but it's always a compliment when wildlife moves in. You might find it's far less stressful to accept your new lodger and enjoy the fact that wildlife wants to share your space. Relax, feel proud, and marvel at nature's JCB!
Not sure i agree with using jeyes fluid in the garden...!
You could try a more natural way - mix up some peppermint oil/garlic salts/chilli powder in a watering can and pour it liberally over the worst affected areas or the areas you wish to protect. The mole is hunting for food while tunnelling so by making the food distasteful you'll put him off the area. Obviously you'll need to refresh it after a while, or after rain, so that it remains effective.

I agree that any chemicals in the garden aren't good but the cloth should only be soaked in so that it emits the smell and being in the tunnel (underground) shouldn't harm anything else. It may not be ideal but better than getting the 'mole disposal man' in!
Hi LRB - I will give this a go - many thanks for taking the time to reply.
