I was watching a robin on my sunflower hearts feeder when he/she took one and flew over to the other robin waiting nearby and appeared to give it to her/him before quickly flying off.
I have never seen this happening before with robins.
They sure do. As well as pair-bonding, the extra food helps the female get ready for egg-laying. This is Maureen and Colin on our local patch :)

Lovely picture, Aiki! When I was watching mine it all happened so fast that I couldn't be sure he'd handed the food over, let alone my being able to capture the event on camera!
It does all happen very fast. We watched these two for a while and saw maybe a dozen food exchanges. Both birds were foraging on the ground, but it became clear after a while that she was keeping an eye on him. Whenever he found a particularly big creepy-crawly, she would stop what she was doing and begin her begging call. That gave Mr aiki (this is his photo) the chance to line up a shot before the male raced over and fed her :)
That's a fabulous photo Aiki. A very special moment.
Well done Mr A.

Hi Keeta
I think this shows us enough proof to say yes robins do courtship feed each other. :-)
Best wishes Chris
