Greetings all. I always leave my hedging as late as possible to avoid disturbing nests so I was horrified this week to accidentally tear out a live nest while trying to get rid of bindweed. I rescued two hatchlings, eyes still closed so no more than a day old. They're into day 3 now on a diet of live mealworms so we're doing OK I think. I suspect they're dunnocks but maybe robins? Just thought it worth posting to observe how late they are. We are just outside Folkestone
A week in and our little friends continue to develop
Well done re rearing them.
To clarify, dunnocks are known to lay in July so the timing isn't unusual.
