Hello,
we have a Robin nest in the garden but a neighbours cat has managed to find it and had one of the babies out. It seems to be unharmed but seems really young. I’ve put it in a “nest” as close to where I’ve seen mum and dad going into the hedge - but it’s dark now and worried it’ll get cold. I’ve tried to hide him and hope the cat doesn’t come back.
I’ve watched the mum and dad and it seems they’re still looking around for it, is there anything else I can do? Photo of what I’ve put it in - popped some mown dry grass in the bottom
I realise you've acted with the best of intentions Daisy but you should have left the fledgling where it was so that the parent could find it to feed it, they can't fly for a few days after leaving the nest and just seek cover under plants and hedges and take their chance ... you should put the baby Robin back where you found it early in the morning and watch from a distance to see if adult bird finds it! You could visit here to get more expert advice ...

Thanks Wendy - I was just worried the cat would be back and get it, especially as it was getting dark. Both the parents were on the fence dancing around which is what caught my attention and looked out and the cat was there with the baby. Will pop him back on the ground where he was in the morning. Thanks again!
Do let us know if the parents come back to feed their youngster!
Yes, they’ve found it! It had hopped out of the little nest I put it in by the time I got out there by 7:30 this morning, it’s under a little bush now and mum and dad are busy feeding it. Do you know how long they’ll do this before it’ll be able to fly off for itself?
That's really good news, baby Robin will likely take up to a week, maybe longer, before it can fly well!
