Every day i have a load of Blackbirds and Starlings in my garden they all hop around and prck at the grass even though there is no food on the grass. What are they eating and what should i give them to eat?
Hi Andy, they are foraging around for natural foods such as worms and beetles, here's a fact sheet about feeding Blackbirds ...

And another for Starlings ...

My opinion.
Blackbirds will generally be scoping for worms.
Starlings are less specific. They'll probe the turf for grubs. They are not averse to leatherjackets (larvae of cranefly, which feed on the roots of plants, such as grass). I look on starlings as providing a service, and thus a very welcome visitor.
That's just what it says in the links I posted!
