There are hardly any birds visiting my garden - October.

Hi Anna....Autumn provides a natural feast for our garden visitors...with berries, nuts and seeds in abundance which may explain why some birds have stopped visiting for now but am sure they will be back soon as the winters draws in ;-)

I would also add to Linda's very good and informative reply, the autumn so far for many parts of the UK, and I'm presuming you're in the UK, have been extremely mild, so there are still a lot of insects around.

As well as the previous replies, there's also the fact some 'garden birds' do move about a lot more than people think. e.g. finches roam around quite a bit. Goldfinches here have all disappeared in the last 2 or 3 weeks. Some will reappear I'm sure, but quite probably won't be the same ones as earlier in the year.

Some species are less mobile, e.g. house sparrows. If you were getting them until a few weeks ago, that may suggest an issue.
