For about 2 weeks solid a pair(?) of wood pigeons have been perched in my wisteria. One of them remains perched there whilst the other spends all day returning with twigs, none of which ever get used and they simply fall to the ground..all day, every day for two weeks!!?? It's almost as if the other one is saying "I've already told you I don't know how to build a nest"! A nest is perfectly achievable there because there was one last year in exactly the same spot? Any ideas
Maybe the growth that's occurred during the year has made the original site unstable? Just a thought! Or, as you say, a new inexperienced pair?
