We have several Great Spotted Woodpeckers visiting our garden and my husband has had several attempts at creating a feeder that will stop larger birds, especially starlings and rooks, from stealing the suet mix we put in it. Currently we have tubes set into wooden sides covered with a plastic canopy but the larger birds can hover/flutter and access the food.
What can we do to prevent these thieves?
