Blackbird nest

I have found a blackbird nest with 3 eggs in my log store. I haven’t seen the parents for a day. We are having a new patio built (builder booked in, materials ordered). The log store needs to be emptied and moved. Do we move the nest to a nearby bush?

Afraid not. Under the law it is illegal to interfere with nesting birds. You will have to wait until the eggs have hatched and the young fledge.

Ok thanks, how long do they take to hatch and then leave the nest? I’ve read around a month?

Would say around three weeks for the eggs to hatch and around the same to fledge. So 6weeks maybe plus.

Thanks, we’ve put it back until end of June. I’ve seen the female sitting on the nest so hopefully there will be 3 chicks. We’re also go bluetits nesting in another part of our garden - first time we’ve noticed any birds nesting in 3 years so I’m quite excited.
