fledgling gull

hi a baby gull (fledgeling) has been on the ground for 2 weeks now. We have been keeping him as safe as we can. I cannot catch him any longer to put him back on the roof as he is flying about 6/7 feet in the air.

How much longer do you think it will be before he flys away ??? As it is really stressful keeping him safe on the street :)

thank you

billie

  • If it can fly I would think it'll start exploring further afield pretty soon. The bird is considerably safer now that it can get itself off the ground.

    Thanks for caring!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
