I have a small preformed pond and a new plant has randomly arrived. I thought it was duckweed but an app has identified it as water fern. A quick google has told me this is a banned, invasive species.
q. How do I remove it? There is only a small clump at the moment. How much damage will it cause the pond life / ecosystem? etc
thanks in advance X
Hi Carly, I would suggest as you have a small pond, keep scooping it out with a pond net as it does spread and dispose in green bin or compost, Might help to have a device like small solar water pump/fountain which agitates the water. If you have room, add a dwarf waterlily as partial covering of the surface of the pond can reduce weed/algae.
