Injured Collared fledgling Dove

We have a baby dove in the garden that has its tail feathers damaged. We have kept it in a cage overnight and fed it liguidised milk and meal worm. Is there anything else we can do, in fear of it being attacked if we let it back into the garden.

Advise would be very welcomed

  • Milk isn't ideal for birds as they're lactose intolerant, and pigeons and doves eat seed in the wild not worms. Depending on the age of the dove, it should be hand-fed a hand-rearing mix ideally. Take a look at this page and see if you can find a local wildlife hospital, or contact the local vets or RSPCA.
