I have two crows in the garden to the back of my flat that seem hell bent on attacking each other. What they do to each other i snone of my business but.....................the noise they make whlist doing it is unberable and disrupting my sleep. As someone who is already having to take prescription medication because of long term insomnia this is not an insignificant issue.
I already wear ear plugs but the noise is so bad that it still wakes me when they start at 4am in the morning when it gets light.
Is there any advice on how i can deter them or move them on elsewhere without harming them...............but I am desperate and the more so the more my sleep is disrupted.
Thanks
Hello Ziegfeld Girl and welcome!
I'm sorry to hear about your noisy crows because I can totally empathise.
We too have noisy rooks and crows at 4am - but it's normally only at this time of year when they are feeding their young. Once they have grown up then the noise disappears too!
Not that that news is going to be of much comfort to you I'm afraid.
They are fairly skittish though and don't like any movement so we've found after a few waves of arms from our bedroom window it seems to deter them ........... for a good hour anyway.
Sorry to say we haven't found an effective deterrent as yet ..... but perhaps one of those hand held children's windmills stuck somewhere near where they normally sit .... might do the trick?
I'm quite confident that someone else on this website has the same problem and will have a much better answer for you than I. So do let us all know if you find a way of deterring them in the meantime!
Good luck and best wishes for some decent sleep!!
