This morning at 6.30am I went outside and found a complete set of internal organs on my front path. They were fresh but no sign of any fur or feathers - in fact they looked almost as if they had been dissected. Has anyone any thoughts on what species they belong to ( probably small mammalian) and who the predator was? It is a mystery to me
Oh dear, what a nasty shock. Has Jack the Ripper come back to life?
Did you take a photo?
Cheers, Linda.

No - stupidly never thought and just wrapped it up and put it in the bin!
Maybe a cat is the killer?

Don't think it was a cat, cats tend to eat the whole thing if it's small enough or leave the unsavoury bits i.e. bladder. Internal entrails to a cat would be sweetmeats, they wouldn't just eat the hard bone and leave the best bits.

I've just had a very grisly thought, and please forgive me if I am way off the mark, but could the predator have been human? A very, very sick joke or similar?
Good grief Sparrow, don't want to think about that!. What about a BoP that made the kill elsewhere and dropped the lot whilst flying off. If there were no feathers or anything else other than the grisly bits, it could have been that. Just a suggestion :-)

Don't know about that, I know someone who went flying on entrails their cat had left in the kitchen!

Likewise, don't know about that, but not a very pleasant find in your kitchen.
I did read somewhere (could even have been on here on past threads) of someone sitting in the garden when remains of a bird landed in their lap from above. That's the only reason I thought it could have been a careless BoP or perhaps one of the corvids.
