I have a nest box with camera and blue tits have laid 7 eggs in the last 4 days but they are only being incubated during the night. The female leaves the nest at first light, returning now and again during the day for a check, and sits on the eggs again around 7pm. Is this normal practice?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I expect the birds know best. Congratulations on your nest and I hope they hatch out successfully. Any chance of some pictures?
