Kezmo this one is especially for you. There are about five of these that come into my mums garden and I thought they were just feral pigeons, but on looking at my BTO book could they be Stock Doves?
They are slightly smaller than the Wood pigeons and do not have the red eyes of the feral pigeons I get at home.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Well I know what I think they are.... ;-)

Hi Sarah
I think it is a Stock Dove you have there
They are a bit bigger than a Feral Pigeon but not as large, and bulky as a Wood Pigeon.
They like to feed from feeders too.

What excactly is a feral pigeon, until joining this forum I thought all pigeons were the same I didn't realise there were different breeds, are they like feral cats, domesticated ones that have gone wild, sorry if I'm being a numpty.
